Year 1 – Day 48
A week ago, before the conference ended, the President said she needed an office and her staff on the Lunar surface.
All the governors agreed, and she found and decorated a large room as her office. Large in comparison to the cubical office she had on Earth. One of the shuttle commanders found a Presidential looking desk and brought it to her for use in her office.
She liked the new desk. It was pretty modern but looked antique.
As the teams returned to wherever, each met with a medical team member. A physical and mental debriefing took place. Most expressed horror and shock at the number of bodies littering the stores and the streets. They spoke to therapists and worked through the mental aspect. But it was not those who were the concern of the medical teams. It was the people who said they felt nothing. If they were suppressing those feelings, it could not be good for them and those around them tomorrow, next week, or a year from now when the images and the feelings take their toll. Thankfully, only four fell into this category, and they had been removed from the active listings and placed in medical on the Lunar surface.
They would fully recover with enough time but never be permitted to return to the surface.
